Mull Food and Drink
If you’re in Tobermory, why not visit the famous Mishnish Hotel? The restaurant serves delicious, fresh seafood – enjoy the stunning views of the town from your table
There’s still time to book for the Tobermory Whisky Festival on 20th June 2026. Various distillery experiences are available to book, but whatever you choose make sure you come along and enjoy a wee dram.
History of Mull
Mull has been home to many civilisations, including Mesolithic hunter-gatherers, Vikings and ancient clans, and is full of settlement remains, castles and standing stones.
The Isle of Mull is a geological phenomenon, attracting geologists from across the globe to explore the wonderful variety of rocks, incredible rock formations and dramatic landscapes of the area. You could walk around for hours and marvel at the shapes and colours of the rocks around you, then take a break with your tea and sandwiches and enjoy the views of the surrounding Lewisian and Torridonian rocks, or stop at the popular Carsaig Arches.
Wildlife on Mull
The Isle of Mull is home to so many amazing animals, birds and sea life. It’s easy to book a tour – or simply take a walk around the island – and enjoy seeing our swooping, swimming, flying and furrowing neighbours in their home landscapes. Some popular sights include sea eagles, puffins, otters, red deer and whales. Is it time for you to invest in a new camera yet?
If a waterfall walk is your thing, you’ll love Eas Fors Waterfall (which brilliantly translates to “waterfall waterfall waterfall”). It’s particularly beautiful in spring and summer and is the ideal excuse to get yourself a new anorak for the trip.

For art lovers, there is the Mull Art Trail where you can visit open studios and galleries, meet many local artists and introduce yourself to the wonderful range of crafts that Mull has to offer. Browse beautiful creations in painting, sculpture, pottery, wool weaving and silversmithing to name a few (remember to take your shopping bags!). Ardalanish Isle of Mull Weavers also open for visitors to enjoy the process of how they turn the wool into tweed clothing.
Music on Mull
The annual Mull Music Festival is a huge hit with folk, rock and ceilidh lovers, who come from all over Scotland and beyond for a fantastic celebration of music – it’s the perfect holiday in Scotland for music lovers! This year’s festival has passed but upcoming dates have been announced for 22nd to 25th April 2027 and 20th to 23rd April 2028.
Watersports, archery and yoga
If you love sports and the great outdoors, Mull really is the perfect holiday in Scotland for you!
